What are peptides?
Peptides are short chains of amino acids linked by peptide bonds. In laboratory settings they are used as reference materials and research tools to study signaling pathways, receptor interactions, enzyme activity, and cellular processes. Length and sequence determine how a peptide behaves in experimental models.
What does “research use only” mean?
Research use only (RUO) means the material is intended exclusively for laboratory research by qualified buyers. It is not a drug, supplement, or cosmetic. TSMS Labs products are not for human or veterinary consumption, clinical use, diagnostic use, or any form of in vivo administration outside approved research protocols.
How are research peptides typically supplied?
Many research peptides, including our catalog items, ship as lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder in vials. Labs reconstitute them with an appropriate solvent according to their own protocols before use in assays or experimental systems. Always follow institutional SOPs for handling and preparation.
How should lyophilized peptides be stored?
Unopened lyophilized peptides are commonly stored frozen (often around −20°C) and protected from light and moisture. After reconstitution, stability depends on the peptide, solvent, concentration, and temperature—labs should validate storage conditions for their specific protocol. Do not assume room-temperature stability unless your method supports it.
What does purity mean on a peptide label?
Purity is typically reported from analytical methods such as HPLC and reflects the relative amount of the target peptide versus related impurities in the sample. A Certificate of Analysis (COA) may include purity, identity checks, and other lot-specific results. Higher purity reduces interference in sensitive assays but does not change the RUO status of the material.
What is a Certificate of Analysis (COA)?
A COA is lot documentation summarizing analytical results for a specific batch—often identity, purity, and related quality data. TSMS Labs provides COAs on request so labs can keep records aligned with their quality systems. Request one from the COA page or by emailing orders@tsmslabs.com with your catalog number and order details.
How do I choose the right peptide for a study?
Selection depends on the pathway or receptor you are studying, required concentration ranges, assay format, and literature precedents. Review catalog numbers, strengths, and research summaries on our product pages, then confirm fit against your protocol and institutional requirements. We supply materials; experimental design remains the responsibility of the laboratory.
Are these products the same as compounded or clinical peptides?
No. Research peptides sold for laboratory use are not equivalent to compounded pharmacy preparations or approved therapeutics. Packaging, labeling, documentation, and intended use are built for research workflows—not patient care. Do not substitute RUO materials for clinical products.
How does ordering and payment work?
Submit an order on our Order page with products, quantities, and shipping. We email a USDC invoice (Ethereum ERC-20) with payment instructions. After you pay, reply with the transaction hash or screenshot. Please allow up to 24–48 hours for payment confirmation before shipment notices go out.
How is shipping handled?
We offer FedEx Express and FedEx 2Day flat rates for the contiguous United States. Alaska, Hawaii, and international destinations need a custom quote—note that in your order comments or contact us. Tracking is emailed once the label is created and the order ships.
